I FINALLY finished my Spring blog makeover! I feel more "springy" now. My mom loves butterflies so I'm dedicating this design to her (Hi mom). I will be moving in the next 30 days!!!!!! Okay, act like you didn't read that. My husband wants me to keep it under wraps until we move- YEAH, RIGHT! I feel like the man that Jesus healed and "he charged him that he should tell no man." How in the world can a person possibly not tell of the goodness of God? My pastor preached a sermon from that scripture and the topic was "Disobedient Praise". Maybe if I tell my husband that, I won't be in too much trouble for sharing early (Hi Honey) When I can share pictures- I will gladly post them. Give me about another month and I'll be telling just about everything!
God Bless...
Oh, BTW, there seems to be soooooooo many Missy's that have blogs (no offense to any Missy out there- your parents have excellent taste in names), but there were so many that I decided to use a nickname a friend of mine in Germany gave me...

I saw this and couldn't resist- We sing a song at church that says:
When I think of His goodness and what He's done for me
When I think of His goodness and how He set me free,
I could DANCE, DANCE, DANCE, DANCE all night!
When I think of His goodness and what He's done for me
When I think of His goodness and how He set me free,
I could DANCE, DANCE, DANCE, DANCE all night!

It's that time again
Well, it's time for me to change my blog- again. I am NOT a winter person. I would prefer to live some where where it stays warm all year long. Pathetic, huh? I can take snow for so long and then it starts to get to me. Which has led me to the decision to start my Spring blog theme. I am so ready for Spring- so here I go again. Please excuse my mess.
My sons
I took this picture of my sons last month when the weather was unusually warm. I saw a technique on another blog and thought I would try it on this pic. Now, I can't decide which one I like, so I decided to just post all three:
Here's the original:
Here's the first change I made. I like this one and I think I'll get it in a 8x10 to go on my living room wall:
Buuuuuutttttt, after trying the new technique, I can't decide which one I like better:
I was up last night trying to this technique and just couldn't. I was pretty bummed about the whole thing. See, what I saw was done in Adobe Photoshop-which I don't have and don't care to spend $70 on right now, when my money could be going on something more important. About Year and half ago I broght this $20 printer from K-Mart and it came with a great photo editing software. So far, it has been just what I've needed- honestly, the software itself was worth the $20 and more. But last night I thought it had let me down. Well after much prayer and time playing around on it-guess what the Lord helped me to find out. Yep, how to get my picture to look like it was black and white and I added some color to it, but I didn't. Not that you care to know all of that, but it was a major victory for me today. Oh, by the way, the software is Photo Explosion.

Eclipse of moon
Right now, we are studying the Solar system in the chapter we are currently in. Someone shared on our curriculum yahoo group, that there would be an eclipse of the moon tonight- perfect!!!! Our church is celebrating it's 21st anniversary, so I ran out of church tonight and got the children while we looked at the eclipse.
People are funny...have you ever looked up at the sky for something and then people who don't even know you will start to look up to see what you are looking at? That's what happened tonight. We looked up and as people were leaving out of service, they wondered what we were looking at. Next thing I know, we have a little group and picture phones appear, along with more kids-whether they were homeschooled or not. Anyway, I did have my camera with me, but decided to wait until I got home because I desperately needed a tripod - I had to zoom in pretty far, the other pics looked blurred:
This was taken from church:
This one is on a tripod- see the difference?
Now on this next one- look really hard and you will see at least three stars- you might think it's dust from your computer screen, but they are really stars. One is right above the moon the other is about at a 2 o'clock location and the last one is at about 8 o'clock

Blogger Friend School Assignment #15
Button Jars! Button Jars! Sewing has been a part of my family for generations! My mom is THE best seamtress.
As far back as I can remember, I have had sewing all around me. My mom always had a sewing closet wherever we lived or at least a place to put her sewing machine and the button box and the cutting table were never far. She would cut buttons off of old clothing that was good for nothing but a rag, or she would have buttons leftover from whatever project she had been working on, whether it was for us or someone else. I can remember looking at different buttons when I was little and trying to figure out where they came from or if they may have been some long lost jewel that could be cashed in for money. One button I remember in particular was the one she had left over from someone's wedding dress and the hoop part that it would hook into. She had different colors and and it was covered in satin material. I always wanted a dress that would have that "hoopy" button hole in the back of my dress. It's like the ones that were worn in the 1800's and a hook would be needed to button up. Well, when it came time for me to choose my wedding dress for her to make, guess what I got? Hoopy buttons!!! Not only down the back of my dress, but also, on the bottom part of my sleeves! I think after all of that, I got the hoopyness (is that a word?) out of my system.I love you Mom!

My Baby, Baby Birthday
My youngest sons birthday is today! He turned 5. It s funny when people ask him how old he is, he goes, "ffffffffffffffffffour, FIVE!" He's so used to saying 4, then he remembers. Of course, we took a trip to the oh so wonderful Chuck E. Cheese's. I was amazed at the amount of people that were there tonight! I have learned to take, what I call, the "Home School Advantage"- get there between 1PM-5PM; when all the parents have to leave because they have to get the older kids from school or be at home when they arrive. That way when the evening crowd gets there- I'll be ready to leave. When we arrived there were only about 7 families there and maybe 14 kids. By the time we left, people were asking for our tables and waiting for our parking spots. One employee told me that last Valentine's Day, there was a line going out of the door and wrapping around the building-wow!
I did attempt to get some good pics tonight with my new camera. I got a few that I really liked and tweaked a little bit:

Blogger Friend School Assignment #14
Wow, just when I thought I finally caught up on my work- my teacher gives me another assignment!

I am not complaining at all! Valentine's Day is special to me for more than just showing love to my loved ones. I received the Gift of the Holy Ghost, 26 years ago! It was the day I experienced God love for me for myself! Thank You, Jesus!!!Also, it is my youngest son's birthday- I had to have a c-section and I got to choose the date of his arrival, which initially was on my husband's birthday-the 16th. So I thought how fun it would be be to share a birthday with my baby! Happy 5th Birthday, Fatty and Happy 36th Birthday, Honey!
When I read my assignment for this week, I knew exactly what I wanted my love letter to Jesus to say. I have included a video from youtube at the bottom-make sure you turn off my music at the bottom right side of the page:

You reign on the throne for You are God and God alone
Because of You my cloudy days are gone
I can sing to You this song
I just want to say that I love You more than anything
Because of You my cloudy days are gone
I can sing to You this song
I just want to say that I love You more than anything
Love me in Your Arms
You were my shelter from the storm
When all my friends were gone
You were right there all along
I never knew a love like this before, Oh
I just want to say that I love You more than anything
I Love You Jesus
I worship and adore You
Just want to tell
Lord, I Love You more than anything
Blogger Friend School Assignment #13

Blogger Friend School is back in session! Thank You, Nancy! I was surprised at how much I missed doing this. Okay, here's assignment #13- I actually have about 5 Bibles, but three are in storage until we move next month, so I'll answer with the ones that I have.
How old is your Bible? Thompson Chain is about 20 years old (Wow! I didn't realize that until now!) and my Schofield is about 14 years old. Both are KJV.

Why did you chose this Bible? My Thomson Chain was given to me by parents when I was about 15 years old and it was my first "serious" Bible. They bought it at United Pentecostal Church Retreat in Berchtesgaden, Germany. My Schofield, I chose to buy when I wanted to do more studying besides referencing back and forth. I bought it when my husband and I moved to Hawaii. It was the first Bible I ever bought for myself and my first time being on my own and grown. I guess it was a milestone for me.
Do you highlight/mark passages in your Bible? YES! But, I only use colored pencils because the the highlighters and markers bleed through the thin pages.
If so, what is your system for marking passages? Most of the time I mark passages that God has specifically spoken to me through or dealt with me about. Then when I read again, I know that particular verse has a purpose or point for me to remember. I like to color a "promise verse" in the color of a rainbow.

Do you have notebooks to record things? YES!
If so, how many and what do you record? I have quite a few. I have a Sunday School Notebook, Sermon Notebook, Just For Me Notebook, and a Home School Notebook. I like to record things that God has given me an understanding of so, I won't forget and I want to pass those things to my children.
Where is your favorite spot to read your Bible? For now, it's my bedroom on my side of the bed after my personal prayer time. When I move, my spot will be in front of the fireplace : )
Are there any special thoughts about your Bible you want to share? I love the Word of God- it is has the answer for ANYTHING that comes up in life. Each one of my Bibles has something different to offer, but when it all boils down, it is the Word of God and..."Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness."
(2 Timothy 3:16) I appreciate my Bibles because I know there are many people on this earth that desire the ability to have at least one and yet, they are not given the opportunity to. Thank God for His Word!
