Geography Songs

I saw this on a website-which one, I can't remember, but it is good for teaching the younger ones the Continents:

(Tune to "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands")
He's got ASIA and EUROPE in His hands,
He's got AFRICA and AUSTRALIA in His hands,
He's got NORTH and SOUTH AMERICA in His hands.
He's got the whole WORLD in His hands.

He's got six huge continents in our hands.
He's got six huge continents in our hands.
He's got six huge continents in our hands.
But where is number seven?

It's at the south point of the globe -- yes, it is.
It's at the south point of the globe -- yes, it is.
It's at the south point of the globe -- yes, it is.
And it's called ANTARCTICA.

For my older ones:

  1. I used to record this to wathc every day when they were new. And yes, I was an adult, and no, I had no children at that point. I remember this song, but I never thought of it for teaching geography at some point (five is too young for this song, right?). Thanks for jogging my memory. I just found your blog through Jimmy at One Child Policy and I think your family is adorable. We don't like lapbooks (and by that, I mean my so doesn't like them), but I love the ideas that go into them and many times have used bits and pieces in a lesson. I just added you to my Google reader list.

    Thanks!
